As its name implies, Indonesian Language is the national language Indonesia. Since the country consists of thousands of island, the language has been used as lingua franca that allows communication between islands.

1. It’s the 10th most spoken language in the world

There are around 43 million Native speakers with 155 million Non-native speakers.

2. It is the 3rd most used language in WordPress

WordPress is a website that has made blogging very easy and Indonesian language has been listed as the third most used language in WordPress.

3. It is the second language of Vietnam

In December 2017, Vietnam made Indonesian language as their 2nd official language.

4. It is a part of the Malayan Language

Malayan is thought be basis for the lingua franca in Indonesia. 

5. Has been sent to the outer space 

55 languages has been sent to outer space aboard the Voyager Satellite. The languages have been stored in a golden disc that holds information about the sound and language of the earth. Indonesian language is one of them.

6. Studied in 45 countries 

A total of 45 countries implement the BIPA program (Indonesian for Foreign Speakers).

7. There is an Indonesian language study center in Egypt 

In Cairo, the Indonesian Embassy hosted a free Indonesian course for Egyptian at the Indonesian Cultural Center (PUSKIN) which was attended by 2,100 people in 2015.
